What is a Doula?
A Doula is a trained and experienced birth assistant who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to help you and your spouse or partner, have your dream pregnancy and birth experience.
Our certified Birth Doulas, will work alongside your healthcare team of nurses, midwives and doctors to provide a reassuring presence and help you navigate the birth process.
Doulas offer preparation help for your birth and provide suggestions on what to pack in your delivery bag. They help to clarify any birth preferences and help to develop your 'birth plan'. A Doulas specialty is in helping you remain calm, confident, and comfortable during labor. They may come to your home to help keep you comfortable with breathing techniques, massage, relaxation positions, heat, and cold packs, and use of the bathtub or shower, Some of our doulas even has a TENs unit in their bag of goodies.
After Birth
After your baby is born, the Doula will meet you during the first month to provide suggestions regarding feeding challenges, sleep issues, and overall adjustment. Their goal is to bring you the knowledge of all options for a safe and healthy postpartum experience. They will gladly provide answers to many questions to help get your family off to a great start.
Offerings

Jennie Mills
Labor and Postpartum Doula, Licensed Massage Therapist
Jennie has been working as a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2014 and then as a Birth Doula after completing her Certification class through Bastyr University at the Simkin Center for Allied Birth Vocations. She is has her certification through DONA International. Her fun and flexible personality helps keep the environment upbeat and playful while also being able to provide a calming presence in times of stress. Jennie uses her experience as an LMT as well as her Doula knowledge during the birthing process in order to provide a relaxing and supportive atmosphere. Jennie feels honored to be able to support new and experienced parents and prioritizes their preferences to ensure this magical moment is enjoyed and remembered.
Faith Skatrud
RN, BSN
Childbirth Instructor, Postpartum Doula, Certified Sleep Consultant
Faith has been a nurse for 5 years with a clinical background in pediatrics and surgical care. She is also a postpartum doula and certified pediatric sleep consultant. She has a passion to educate and empower new parents to connect with each other, achieve their birthing and parenting goals, and enjoy their new babies!
Outside of her career, she is a wife, and the mom of a very active and sweet 18-month-old boy. Her hobbies include gardening and caring for her many house plants, playing piano, and exploring the many parks in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle where she lives with her partner and son.
Bri Music
Doula, Midwife Student
As a Doula, and as a student midwife, Bri is passionate about serving and supporting birthing families. She believes in taking a holistic approach to birth and life. Bri offers support for home births, as well as empowering people to advocate for themselves in the hospital setting. She has experience with high risk pregnancies, premature births, hospital transfers, VBAC's, vaginal breeches, and physiological births at home both in the water and on land.
Bri is from the Puyallup Valley but live in Auburn now with my partner and 6 kids. She considers all of her clients her family for the time she has the honor of supporting them.
Kayla
Birth and Postpartum Doula
Kayla is currently working on completing her certification and has trained with Sharon Muza, a DONA Certified Trainer.
At 18, Kayla's passion for supporting new families was ignited when she attended the birth of her younger sister and then helped with postpartum care.
Her passion was then further driven after having hired a doula for herself at the birth of her son. After this experience, Kayla knew that she wanted to be a doula.
Kayla is an empathetic, kind, and passionate doula who feels lucky to support birthing families. Everyone who meets her immediately notices her supporting and comforting presence. Kayla loves the opportunity to empower new parents and help them recognize and achieve their goals for birth and postpartum. She connects deeply with her clients and cares for them like her own family.
