About The Event
It is easy to feel overwhelmed about the vast information available for breastfeeding. This class will share essential elements to help get you off to the right start while providing a very balanced approach to feeding your baby.
This class is for expectant moms who want to learn about the benefits, challenges and how to best prepare to breastfeeding your baby. If you are planning on pumping and going back to work, we have you covered!
We recommend registering for this class by your fifth month of pregnancy. Plan to complete your prenatal classes 4-6 weeks before your due date. (If you have already taken our 1-Day Childbirth, Breastfeeding & Newborn Care class, and you have decided that you want to breastfeed your baby, we recommend this class as a supplement to the information presented in that class.)
This class will explore the topic of breastfeeding in depth and supplies for breastfeeding. We will also address the challenges and provide solutions and product recommendations. Challenges such as nipple soreness, engorgement, leaking breast milk, mastitis, clogged cuts, low supply, thrush, nipple structure, tongue tie and how this affects a feeding. We will also help with choosing a pump that works for your needs and demonstrating how it works. Questions will be answered about milk storage in refrigerator or freezer and what to store milk in.
Knowing some of the basics and having the resources as well as where to call when help is needed, will help set you up for success in feeding your baby!
